Sony Ericsson’s new MH907 headphones read your mind

Well they don’t really. The Sony Ericsson MH907 headphones are actually motion activated and will turn your music on or off depending on what you do to them. Sounds fantastic.

Exactly how do they work, you ask. Well by simply plugging in both the earphones your music playback is resumed allowing you to jam to the latest beats. Then when that irritating person tries to speak to you, hoping that their voice will carry through the music playing from the earphones in side your ear, you can simply pull out one of the earphones which magically pauses your music allowing you to speak to the irritation. Simply place the earphone back in your ear to continue your music experience.

Meeting the Mede8er Multimedia Monster

Mede8er Multimedia Monster

I’m quite a fanatic when it comes to High Definition TV, media and hardware. I have a 42” Plasma screen set-up together with a new 23.6” AOC monitor. Having a plasma screen I am very picky when it comes to video and the quality thereof. I have been keeping up with the times and been enjoying Full HD content a lot, this leads me to the subject of this post.

There are a few media players on the market but to date I have not even considered getting my hand on one of them. Mvix did in the later models support Full HD content which was the first product I looked at. However it only had HDMI 1.0 support which means no sound through HDMI, so I was still not sold. I am pleased to say that I have found a media player worth looking at. This nifty device is called the Mede8er MED500X.

It Will Cost R240 000 to Fill Your iPod Up, Legally

iPod Cash

iPod Cash

Yes, with the current cost of albums it would cost you about R240 000 to fill up you iPod Classic. Baring in mind that not to many people use the iPod Classic we did the calculation on the 4GB iPod Nano and it would cost about R8000 just to fill that up.

That does not sound promising for the fight against pirating and the illegal distribution of music. We do not support pirating but we cannot justify the price and cost for music and the price you pay for an album. Most music stores in South Africa sell their latest releases starting at about R139 and ending at about R169. This is only for big sellers with some of the more exclusive CD’s selling for as much as a few hundred Rand.

Piracy is definately an easier option for many and this leaves many questions for record labels and their pricing for music.

New LED HDTV’s Better LCD HDTV’s

Samsung LED HDTV

Samsung LED HDTV

LCD TV’s were a revelation. They used less power, looked better and obviously worked a whole lot better. As time has progressed LCD technology has been upgraded even to the extent of high definition coupled with using even less power, looking even more better and given even better display quality.

To better that sounds like a tall order. Until LED technology enters. The latest tech in the television is setting all new trends. Things like better display quality, using up to 40% LESS power than an LCD screen. Sharper images with the ability to show even more contrast.

The LED TV’s also support HD and have a even slimmer build to the LCD equivalents with a depth of just over an inch. The LED TV’s will be offered in the full size range starting at 40″ all the way to the huge 55″ televisions.

LED monitors are already being shipped out under the major brands and unfortunately are considerably more expensive than the LCD televisions. However the LED manufactures say that it is a matter of time until the cost of manufacturing the LEDs will decrease dramatically putting it on par with the older LCD prices.
